No one builds a golf course with their own money. They use other people's money. Get some investors together, sell them your dream and get started! By the way go for the whole 18 holes, you won't regret it!

If you don't have the cash, then you could try to raise it by getting investors interested. They will provide some start-up cash in exchange for a share of future profits, however, you will need a sound business plan before even thinking about it. You will need to put in a lot of work with accurate projections of costs, build time and expected revenues, not to mention ongoing overheads. By the time you've done all that, maybe the economy will be in a better place and you might just be able to interest someone (and its still unlikely as you are not a known course designer and have not given any indication that you know anything about running a business) but if you aren't prepared to do the hard work, your dream will remain a dream only

I guess, we all have dreams. But...this one is out of your league, by even posting this question. It costs about$10,000,000+, to build a course and a half@ssed clubhouse. I know of a ton of courses for sale, for a heck of alot less than that figure. Example...Windermere Country Club, Windermere, Fl...great course, tennis courts, pool, pretty good clubhouse...sold for $3,400,000...it spent 4 years on the market @ $5,000,000. I've known several people that have built courses...not a one of them still has them, except, Joe Lewis, owner of, Isleworth, Lake Nona, and Providence, in the Bahamas. Still...nobody is building houses @ Providences, yet...economy is too bad. New courses CAN'T make enough money to cover the nut each month. Counrty Club memberships, are way down...about 64% to be exact. Build a Putt Putt course!

it could be done with minimum investment. find state or province owned parkland. these parks fall under three different categories. first federal second state third city. there are grants available to improve parkland. all three governments will kick funds into project. return to work for unemployed would be major federal factor. same with state. this would be good paying jobs. federal state funding. your local community with recces ion would gladly allow city staff to assist. since even a nine hole course would draw people. if in tourist area on on the way to tourist area. it would work financially. you have a great back to work, or new e4employment idea. plus every community would have side benefits . it may be just one hotel room but it still improves the economy. the land is there. no need pro designer. local engerning company could do blueprint and design. free publicity. you would not own the golf course. but draw a very very good wage. seems the rage in canada even 9 hole course R V parking. it does work. it is a win win situation. investors 9 hole course would have to be local companies . family grants. with thought it can and will work. of course i tried to bring young people to driving range our local 9 hole course. no minor sports . we have the highest crystal meths addiction rate per ca pita in canada among young people. population just over 5 thousand. i had to go before city hall to have city council allow young people onto the range. have to buy clubs off e bay. since to disabled from cancer to travel for freebies. this resulted in golf club kicking me off membership roles. these are the type of things that are annoying. plus people my age over 60s. the vast majority hate progress. i don't think they are idiots i know they are idiots since same age group have to be included. you have great great idea. contact county or provincial parks board they will send paper work. about 40 pounds. that will start the ball rolling. if you have temper find well spoken woman which is easy to do. to handle public speaking. many chamber of Commerce members will assist paper work legal requests. you have a winner. great job.

no idea?????

To build a quality golf course you need to budget approximately $500,000 per hole of development, so you do the math and then answer your own question!

I suggest you start saving now and you can save enough to buy the land.
