I would like to know some easy colleges to get into?

H s golfer who wants to know how to get colleges to look at me?

  • im a junior with a 5 handicap. nothing incredible but I think its college worthy if i improve. i was just wondering how to get colleges to recognize me. any suggestions?

    cons505e, I need more information. What level of difficulty course is your 5 handicap achieved on? Is your 5 handicap a competition handicap or is it a weekend handicap with your buds? What is your won/loss record in your high school matches? What is your school's won/loss record for the past three seasons? Are you the team captain because you're good or because you're funny and cute? I don't mean to belittle your 5 handicap but the competition for slots on college teams is loaded with 5 handicap high school players. I would guess that if you're asking us on Yahoo!Answers your high school coach is also the track coach, the baseball coach and the girl's softball coach and boy's golf is not his priority. I would suggest that you associate yourself with the pro where you play your school matches or the pro where you have a family membership and ask him for help in your collegiate pursuit.

I played Division 1 golf and the way I got them to notice me was to send them my history of scores, visit them....there are ways to get around illegal college visits; let them know what tournaments I was playing in. Or if you know of big tournaments they are usually there recruiting at these events. Before you pick a school based on the golf program make sure academically you like the school and you feel comfortable there. I learned my lesson the hard way. Coaches get videos all the time and theynever get looked at. you need to do a lot of things. If you want to playin DI or DII you must register with the NCAA Clearinghouse. Take your ACT/SAT's early and often. Make sure the schools that interest you have degrees that also interest you. Take as many unofficial visits as possible. www.sportsworx.com helps with all that stuff. Give them a try.
