How Much are theses Golf Irons worth?

How to choose golf irons?

  • i know golf irons are important for any golfer, but i do not know how to choose the right golf irons! What are the easiest golf irons to hit?

  • Answer:

Definitely go to a shop and get them to recommend different clubs to test. Once you have found the right shaft and head ask them which brands they have which will work for you if you are a beginner and which will last the longest. Some golf shops have good second hand irons so you can get a better quality set in your price range. Rely on their expertise but don't let them con you, if you don't feel like they have been helpful and honest then leave and find a different shop.

Choose irons based on your ability. Clubs come in different categories: max game improvement, game improvement, and game enhancement. The easiest would be in the max game improvement category. When you go to the pro shop, just ask to see irons in the max game improvement category and they will know what you're talking about.

getting the proper irons for you is a product of testing. You need to get out to your local golf club, or if you have one - a golf superstore. Hit a few different irons they have to demo and see which one you feel the best with. There are 3 major factors to fitting irons. 1. Specs - this is the most important, but the last one you're going to deal with. Any good pro will fit you properly for lie angle and shaft length and type. Having the proper specs on your irons is essential to being able to hit the ball the way you want to hit it- long and straight. 2. Feel - when you hit an iron it should be a feeling that you like. It should feel solid and be a confidence builder. If you're hitting an iron and it feels like a rock to you and doesn't make you want to hit it again. then it's probably not the right iron for you. Likewise if it's too light or too heavy that's a major factor. 3. Look - You should have confidence standing over an iron. You should look down at the head and say "yea i can hit this". Is the head too big, too small? is it too shiny for you? What do you prefer? Myself - i like a thin topline and the standard chrome finish with a blasted impact area. I don't like my topline or sole to be too thick. My friend likes the ones that look like hybrids almost. They have a sole thats' about 1.5 inches wide and a top line about half that. It's all preference here.

Golf irons are a personal thing and nobody can tell you what would be right for you. However, the golf stores do have the best chance to find you clubs that fit your height, weight and skill. Go there and ask to have a diagnostic look at what you need. Then make certain you can practice someplace (not on a course) until you become familiar with the clubs feel. Spartawo...

Go get fitted at a retailer. I did not do this and sometimes wish i had. I bought some clubs off the shelf now i will never know if they were exactly right for me or not.
