How to use a Golf Scope?

People who aren't rich and are serious about golf: do you use a golf cart when you use the course?

  • I was wondering how most people who don't come from a rich afford to get good in golf. You have to play pretty often and the fees aren't too bad to play on a public course but you have to rent a golf car which costs 30 bucks so if you do that 4 times a week that's like 500/month!!!!! not only that but you got to pay for clubs, membership, and you have to tip the caddie!!!

  • Answer:

I'm far from rich, and I just use one of the bag roller things they supply at the golf course. They're free and you just wheel it around. Walking is good exercise, golf carts are too expensive and they're not even fun. They go like, 5 mph.

the only thing that a golf cart is good for is to speed up the game. The game is built on the patience side. If you are willing talk and not care how long take to play the 18 holes, save the money. A push or pull cart would be useful. The pull cart goes $30. A push cart goes around $100. If the place requires a caddy, it is not place for a regular person. How can person help you if do not know club you actually need when you do not know. I am still learning to get better myself. I know will probably never make professional. The membership fees will save money in the long run. The only problem is that you are stuck at course. I would probably improve you score but not the game. You would get to know it and it would not push you. Clubs can last a long time if maintain them. The used pair that i just replaced was at least 15 years old. The driver was small head ones. Yes may have have club or two either fixed, repair or replaced.

Usually it's included if you can afford the high life as you say. A lot of the time it depends on the layout of the course. Terrain and distance between holes. Added to this is the fact that a lot of the mid-range price public courses are very popular at peak times and it is almost obligatory that you take a cart to speed up play. When you look at the time it takes and the enjoyment you get out of it, this sport is relatively cheap. Your insurance is paid with your green fees as well.

I am not rich and I don't play golf. If I did I would not be able to afford a caddy or a cart. There are a lot of good golf courses in my area, but the average Joe would have to strain to have a cart and a caddy. Golf is a gentleman's sport, a rich gentleman's sport; however, there are sports in which an average guy can participate. Pool, fishing, etc. To get back to the question; no I don't use a cart, I use a walking stick if I can remember where I put it.

There are tons of public courses in the Indianapolis area that anyone can play for $50 or less, and I almost always carry my own clubs. When I was younger I always worked at a course in the summer, washing carts etc so i could have free playing privileges. The things that you mention are completely unnecessary.

No. One of the cheapest ways to not use a golf cart, but not carry it on your back, is to use a golf bag roller. it is a cheap 20-30 dollar item that takes the weight of your back and your wallet! You can find them in popular golf retailers.

I golf on occasion and use a cart, but I go with mates so we split the cost. How else are we going to carry bags, equipment, beer, and beer all over the coarse?

There's nothing wrong with walking, regardless how much money's in your bank account.

I got tire of renting so I brought one, but I walk more than I ride.
