Answer:
Its not very hard at all. You mainly just have to trust yourself and the bike, focus straight ahead, and maintain a steady speed. Don't go too slow, or it will fall over, but don't go too fast or you might loose balance. Keep getting faster gradually though. It will help you grow comfortable with riding.

Learn how to ride a bike! It isnt hard and the more speed you get the easier it is to keep going. Your 12 and you need to start depending on yourself to get where you want to go and stop relying on friends to pick you up all the time. If I were your friend I would eventually stop picking you up if you really wanted to go with me somewhere you would meet me half way and if that meant you hop on your bike to get to me then so be it. If you cant ride a bike do you know how to swim? The only lesson you need is to get on one and keep trying. If I had a kid he would know how no matter what. Get over yourself and learn. It is alot faster than walking and who knows you might even like it too!

practse on a small bike that''ll work, and yeah you should know how to ride a bike, because petrol might be gone in a near future, so bikes and E-vehicles is all we'll have, and E-vehicles are expensive, the bicycle is the most environmental friendly, transport ever, and its good for you!

just get on the bike and ride down a hill. you'll crash a few times, but in a couple of hours you'll get it right.

If you don't want to learn I won't worry about it until all of you friends are ridding and start making fun of you.

Yeah, I think it's good to know how to ride one. If 5 years old can learn how to ride without training wheels, then so can you! All it takes is practice. Riding a bike on the dirt might not help you out too much, so try a paved road. That way you can get a feel for how you're to position yourself on a smooth surface. There's nothing to be ashamed of for not knowing how to already, but you should want to learn. If you are ever on vacation and want to bike ride around a site or up a mountain (some places you can only get to by bike!) then you will feel left out if you cannot ride one. It's better to learn now when you're in good shape and still young then try and teach yourself when you're in your late twenties or so. And if you don't know how to ride a bike, who will teach your kids? Maybe by the time you have kids, biking places will be in high demand because of the way the environment and economy are looking. Just get it out of the way, use the rest of the summer to teach yourself. Your not going to get it on the first try, so just motivate yourself to keep going until you learn! Good luck.

Well i remember my dad taught me how to ride a bike when i was 8 years old and i got the balance down within a couple of hours. I guess it is different for everybody. I think you should learn unless you are scared. Once you learn you will see how fun it can be and how good. Should you be ashamed? Of course not, there are a lot of people who don't know how to ride. I remember when i was learning that my dad used to run (boy was he skinny and in shape back then) besides me and holding me until i got the balance right. Getting off was also a bit of a challenge at first but i learned.
