What makes a good BMX bike?

  • I'm looking to get a good BMX bike and everyone says to get one with a fully chromoly frame, three piece cranks and a small sprocket. What other parts should i get to get a good BMX bike?

    1)Try to get a bike with 48 spline three piece cranks. They are the strongest type of cranks. -Wrong, Primo Cranks have 4 splines and are the strongest. They not only don't have fragile splines, but have a larger diameter spindle. 2)You want a stem that has four bolts to keep the bars in place. 3)a Front Load Stem -(2&3) Odyssey Elementary only has 1 bolt and is just as strong, but lighter 4)a Pivotal Seat 5)a skinny slim seat -(4&5) get a seat/seatpost combo, lighter 6)a 28/10 gearing or less(like what people said-"small sprocket") -Sort of- any smaller any you'll break chains and blow out rear bearings frequently 7)a 2 piece handle bar -4 piece are just as strong if not stronger 8)a half link chain-its stronger in most cases and will make having a tighter chain" easier -half link is not stronger unless it is the DK chain, but half link has a huge advantage of rear axle adjustability

You want a stem that has four bolts to keep the bars in place.
