What dirt bike should I get?

What exactly is a dirt trail? what kind of bike should i get for it?

  • what exactly is a dirt trail?.. i know they are for mtb.. i'm planning to get a bike to slim down and i wanna know what kind of bike i should get for the bicycle path near my house.. basically it looks like a regular road.. made from tar i think.. but it is also quite rough.. so i'm not sure if a road bike is suitable.. and the ppl who live arnd that area mostly ride mtb.. but thats just because they are much much cheaper in singapore.. so..basically what i;m asking is.. what type of bike should i buy for the bicycle path.. many thanks.. oh.. 1 last qn... i;m an obese guy.. and i was wondering if, because i'm fat, i shouldnt ride a road bike.. does my size matter when i wanna ride a road bike?

If you're heavy the fat tires and stronger frames of a MTB will probably be better than the lightweight frame and wheel and tiny tires of a good road bike. If the road is rough, you might want a mountain bike with a suspension front and rear to help absorb some of the punishment. Or you can just learn to stay off the seat and on the pedals when you encounter a bump or a hole.
