Which is right used bike for Zone 5 -6 in London and how to buy?

• Hi, I am planning to buy a used bike to use regularly to go to office which is around 4 miles (6 kms) from my home. I am from India and there do not have so varieties of bicycle. So I am totally confused. I will be here for next 9 months or little more. So I am planning to go used bike. Early (5-7 years ago) in college days I have used bicycle regularly basis to go to college which was around 4 kilometer apart and also have ride bike around 11-12 kilometer (7-8miles) for 35-40 minutes to meet with girlfriend. So I had practice to ride bike. But now little bit afraid whether it will be possible to ride 4mile regularly or not. So friend what do you think is it easily achievable to ride this distance? Remember here road is far better to ride bike, in India my journey road was likely mountain road!!! Also please mention which I should consider to buy a bike like thin tire or wide tire etc, what I have to check while purchasing. I have seen in Hounslow there has a Sunday market and there seller sales lots of used bike with chip price. Please advice what is right way to bye a bike. Thanks Suman

  If you're going to take your bike on the Tube, make sure you check the bike tube map, which shows which lines you can take bikes on. You also can't take bikes in morning or afternoon peaks anywhere on the tube. If you will use the tube, then buy a folding bike which, when folded, doesn't count.
