What's the best bike for the trails?

Whats the best kind of bike for trails and jumps? and if your on a budget.?

  • i have a shitty bike from sports chek and it was like $145. my b-day's coming up and i want a new bike that i can do jumps and ride the dirt with out it breaking. im on a budget but i will probably get $300 - $400 for my b-day. so what do you suggest for a nice good looking bike thats cheap but not a peice of ****?

  • Answer:

You can get a free ride bike. It has a low sloping top tube and weird low seat position for big jumps. Some are single speed, but most are geared. They have trail tires, and can do some trail riding, but people with xc mountain bikes will have an unfair advantage on the trails. You can hit the big jumps that they wont even do on xc bikes though.

eh it depends, a muntain bike is great for trails mainly because it has shocks and stuff, but on the down side its kinda heavy so its harder for jumps, bmx bikes are good for jumps though but bad at trails if you mean trails on a mountain, but for like a dirt track, their fine, and for that much money you should be set for ethier bike, you can check out www.danscomp.com for good bikes for fairly cheap

You can't get a bike that goes on trails AND you can do jumps on pretty well. A bike for trails would be a mountain bike, but mountain bikes can't go very high up for jumps because they weigh more. For jumps, a BMX bike would be the best because, well, it's made for jumps. :)
