Are these good bikes?

Why are people saying next bikes are no good and are junk? It is the exact same frame as diamond back.?

  • Next bikes, diamond back ,mongoose, thrusters rampage, Charge, Chaos, and huffy bikes alongside many more are all made by the same company.Huffy Inc.Huffy have always been low-end rides for the most part 10 years ago but now they are strictly riding high and using the same materials they use on their higher end bikes and recently bought out a few other bike companies as well. According to a bike store owner who orders from the bike manufacturers directly. Many people tend to say next bikes and mongoose bikes they are Walmart bikes and that they are low end. However, that is on the contrary? Walmart sells mostly the same bike bike shops are selling at an affordable price. Folks don't waste your money nor mind other saying next is garbage. Most likely the same bike you would buy from a bike shop may have come from Walmart unless it's a really high end bike. Many people have any idea that most bike shop owners are resellers of Walmart bikes earning a pretty penny from the buyers:)? I have a friend who own three bike shops in the WPB U.S who own a bike shop and he constantly buy Walmart's bikes and resells them making great profits all the time. Do you know how many people are getting rich on eBay. 75 percent of those sellers drop ship from Walmart. Here is a note of advice, Folks be wise and don't waste your money. next bikes are just as good as any other according to bike USA, Boynton bicycle shop and Cycle America,Cycle rider and many others I have spoken too and asked the same question over and over again.Next sub company of huffy even make an aluminum no rust series of BMX bikes.

  • Answer:

Aluminum no-rust series? If aluminum does rust then it isn't aluminum! eBay sellers notwithstanding, your information is badly flawed. Most Huffy bikes are manufactured by a company in China called Bo-An Bicycle Manufactory. Bo-An is one of the largest bicycle manufacturing companies in the world and make MANY bikes from Huffy to Cannondale to Diamondback and more. That being said, there are gigantic differences in the GRADE of components and and QUALITY of everything from the frame tubing to the care in assembly that set apart the different brands and models. Your friend buys used Walmart bikes and resells them? Cool. That can be a good secondary market but don't confuse buying used bikes for $1 and selling them for $50 to have anything to do with the quality, cost, or value of other brands, makes, and models. If, on the other hand, your friend is buying Walmart bikes and stripping the decals, he is breaking the law and subject to some serious consequences. Inasmuch as your rant shows that you will not be convinced, do what you want, buy what you want.

Huffy does NOT own Diamondback (not diamond back) - fact. Raleigh & Diamondback fall under the same parent company. Just look at them to get an idea. Both use Avenir saddles & pedals. NEXT bikes are the lowest of the low. They have had more recalls than I can count. You want a bike from Walmart? Fine - go buy one. Ride it long & hard. It will fall apart long before my Raleigh does. BTW - my Raleigh has topped 1,500 miles in 2 years - no problems. Show me where on the Huffy web site they list Diamondback bikes? Obviously, you are suffering from extreme cranial rectal inversion.

I disagree. I have several out of round Mongoose wheels to sell you. I also have several inexpensive derailleurs you should try to use... I do like the frame of the Pacific bike I have, the Disk Brake is mechanical and works well, but the other components of both the two Mongoose and Pacific had to be replaced with a bit more than riding around the neighborhood. The Mongoose had the very cheap shift grips, and the more expensive MRX Comp Shifter are still not the same quality that should be on a well made frames... http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/SL308A00-Sram+Mrx+Comp+Shifter.aspx The Volume purchasing of Wal-Mart, Kmart, and Target does not lower the prices enough it is the inexpensive component quality that make up the most of the pricing difference... The other problem with these Big Box purchased units 70% of them need to be taken to a LBS (Local Bike Shop) to be adjusted to shift correctly into all gears, and to be certain the brakes are working as designed... I do agree that these big box stores are putting bicycles on the street and in garages, but how many of these $100/$200 bicycles are on Craigslist in less than a year for $20 or $40 because they can no longer be ridden, and the Big Box retailers have no after purchased service departments to maintain. Your fiend that is reselling used bikes. The bikes he purchases from a retailer are no longer new when he sells them. He is falsely marketing them as new, but most likely is adjusting to make them perform and will service them if there is a problem after sale... But I am certain he can get bicycles for less money from a legitimate wholesaler channel rather than paying Big Box retail, sales tax, and servicing to place them on his showroom floor... I am certain if you were to sit down with a major bike company at the Interbike week Trade Show in Vegas you would find you can have a frame with cheap, medium or high end components and there would be a price difference. http://www.interbike.com/ Can major retailer purchase 1st grade blemish/seconds to lower their pricing a bit more, only the accountants & Management in the large retailers will make that decision trying to turn a better profit on the transportation, sales cost & floor space used...
