Please Help!: how to adjust a derailleur on my bike?

I have a schwinn super le tour 12.8 it has a suntour accushift rear derailleur my chain came off (cheap chain). I got a new one now and am ready to install but I'm kind of in the blind when it comes to derailleurs.

Installing a new chain should not affect derailleur adjustment. If the derailleurs were properly adjusted for the old chain, the new one should be fine as well.
