What are growth hormones?

Does cycling or any other sport make the growth plates produce growth hormones?

mind you, i dont know for sure, but using common sense, bones dont trigger nor produce HGH. that would be some gland, likely the pituitary. everything i have read says that certain traits such as hair color, eye color and how tall we will be is completely set in our genes. the enviroment such as extreme stress from malnutrition or very heavy work loads such as slaves used to endure can inhibit this, but only slightly. from everything i have read, nothing can make you grow taller than your genes are programmed to grow. also growth plate fuse in your teens, so by the time most get concerned about being short or something it is already too late to do anything.

I dont know about that. I ride bike everyday and do tricks and i havent grown not even a inch. I think that applies only for basketball and wrestling.
