What Kind Of BMX Bike Should I Get?

  • I'm completely new to BMXing, I wanna get a LIGHT bike that is nice quality, no Walmart bikes. Any recommendations for someone 5'6 1/2, 101.5 pounds? I sorta like Sunday bikes and Verde just by looks, I want a high quality bike, I like colors such as black + some accent color(purple, white, blue), pink, purple, blue, orange, green, and so on. I'm new and would like an affordable bike, looking for 300 or less, as I only have $214 right now...thanks!!

    First off... Basing your selection on color is a terrible decision! No one cares what your bike looks like as long as you are having fun riding it. $400 is a landmark in BMX completes. Sealed bearings in – Headset, Bottom bracket, Wheels Full or 100% cromo - Frame, Forks, Bars, and Cranks Pivital Seat is a nice to have… Unfortunately anything less will compromise these damn near essentials. You will however find some reasonable entry level bikes for around $300 at around 25lbs to 27lbs. The bikes I have listed will work well for beginners. What type of BMX bike are you looking for? flatland, track, so on, and from what i've noticed most good bikes are pieced together from individual parts. I would suggest a BMX forum, like www.bmx-forum.com for example for a more educated audience.
