What's a good helmet cam?

Looking for a good Helmet Cam?

  • I'm looking for a good helmet cam that I can film with while Mountain Biking - mainly downhill - but also I can film with when I ride to uni and just out on the road. If anybody knows any places to get a good one and how much they are please point me in the right direction. Thanks guys

    The two top helmet cams are the GoPro and the Contour. I rent out the Contour helmet cams for mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, etc. I chose the Contour over the GoPro because they are easier to use (good for rentals). They are also a bit less expensive than the GoPro. A GoPro would be around $300 and a Contour would be around $200. You can see some sample footage and find out more about them here:

Hey James, Obviously the first thing I should recommend is the GoPro HD http://gopro.com/ These are EXCELLENT cameras and have loads of video samples up on youtube just search for "gopro" But not everyone can afford to dish out over £100 pounds on a camera so I would 100% recommend this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ACT20-HD-720P-Helmet-Camera-Outdoor-Action-Sport-Cam-/320711295914?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_Camcorders&hash=item4aabe203aa#ht_6074wt_1265 its an ACT20 HD 720P...just search for it on ebay there should be a few around the 40-45 mark. You really don't want to go any cheaper than that or the quality will be terrible. I hope that helps!

the go pro is the best helmet cam you can buy at the moment..i use it for skydiving and snowboarding,, cheap too.

Have a look at the Veho muvi cams, they are really small and compact. I've just got the 'gumball' edition which comes with all the extras from Amazon. It was just over £60. So far i'm happy with it.
