    The weather in my hometown allows years round riding with sunshine. They are mega popular with all ages here. When I was in China 10 years ago, bicycles were very popular, but then so was foot traffic. The streets are very congested there. I would figure that cycling would continue to grow in popularity. Hmmm, about 4 I would say. Cars can carry heavier loads. That is about the only advantage I can really think of. My bicycle serves most of my transportation needs at a much reduced cost over a vehicle. I see young and old out on the road everyday, so yes...they are suitable for all ages.

"Are bicycles popular in your hometown?" HUGELY popular in St. Louis, MO. "Has the number of bicycle riders in China changed much in the past few years?" Of course. The population has increased. "How old were you when you first learned to ride a bicycle?" About 3 or 4. "What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of bicycles compared to cars?" Only one disadvantage. Can't load one up with passengers. Advantages: Go anywhere in the city I want, just about anytime I want a LOT cheaper. No gas, no insurance, no pollution, no high cost repair bills, etc. With a QUALITY bicycle, you can add panniers & load it up with just about anything you need to haul. Haven't had a car now in about 2 years...maybe more. "Would you say bicycles are suitable for people of all ages?" Well...seeing I'm pushing 60 - YES. Met a man once at a nearby bicycle shop in his late 80's & still riding. Also seeing that I have degenerative disc disease in the lower back & arthritic knees - hell of a lot easier than walking with a cane! Link below...my "pride & joy". Cost? $1,200.00.

Bikes are popular in my hometown in Ohio, but kids used to ride much more in past decades. Don't know about China. I was about 7 when I first rode a bike, and loved it so much that I rode around the house before and after school. I wish I could ride to my job every day, but work is an hour away by car! In my neighborhood, there was an old man about 80 who rode around on his bike all the time.
