Can you recommend a good bike for me?

Can anyone recommend a **good value** in a steel-frame cruiser bike?

  • Looking for a steel-frame cruiser (coaster brake) in the $150-$300 range for around-town commuting and errands. I'm planning to convert it to a Shimano Nexus-8 coaster-brake rear hub later on, so it has to be steel. The big-name bike mfrs. have some nice-looking cruisers, but they're a bit pricey for me. Is Firmstrong a decent-quality bike? Any others? TIA!! (Please don't advise me to buy a different type of bike, I already know the sort of bike I want to end up with.)

    It's cheaper to buy a bike that has multiple speeds already on it. To buy a cruiser style one speed bike now & then upgrade to an 8 speed internal hub is a waste of $$$. You can find lots of one speed cruisers at Wally World at or under that price. "**good value** though? Not hardly.
