Help Need to buy kona brake fluid?

  • Hello I hope somone can help. My friend needs the get some brake fulid for his Kona Bicycle but cant seem to find it anywhere, I said can you just get any brake fluid and he said, that in a bike shop he was advised to buy kona brake fluid, But they dont sell it,Were they right? Also he needs a part for where the gear changes below because something snapped. On the bike it reads Kona cindercone. Do you know where to buy parts or any help would be great.     You need to do one of 2 things: 1) if you determine the brand and model of brake (not the bike), go to any bike shop and they can help you out. Kona doesn't make brakes or brake fluid of any type; 2) Look at the brake lever. The cap should signify what the brake uses- usually mineral oil or brake fluid. You can get the mineral oil from any drug store and you can get the correct DOT brake fluid from any auto parts store. Make sure you also get the correct bleed kit for your brakes. These things have special fittings so you can complete the job successfully.

mineral oil might work. try ebay for the Kona though
