Which fixie has the lighter frame?

Whats a good reasonable prices fixie frame?

  • At the moment i have a Malvern Star frame an old Australian company, but all the parts never seem to fit properly, and its starting to annoy me that when i go to shops and i specifically ask if parts will fit my bike, and they reply with yes and then once i arrive home they dont fit. I recently bought B-Witch handle bars and was told they would fit my stem but once again they didnt nd me being unexperienced tried to force them in and now all the paint is shipped off. Is it the shops or just the frame. i feel i need to start over with a new frame, what would you recommend?

  • Answer:

I would have to disagree with John, building my bike was a lot cheaper than buying a new one (first build too). And to answer your question i would get a new frame. I would recommend going to your local bike shop and talking to them they can often order in parts for you.

Definitively go with John's advise and bikes direct. You could be riding your new bike in less than a week. Also keep the old one and keep practicing eventually you will have enough experience to build up anything you want. Probably also get tired of fixies and go with a more logical thing.

I would just buy a complete bike and be done with it. Buying parts and putting the bike together will cost you 3 times more then a complete bike. That doesn't include the tools. http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/trackbikes.htm
