What's the easiest way to get a good lightweight BMX bike?

Someone from usa wants to buy my push bike, whats the safest way to ship the bike and get my money?

  • My bike is for sale in a magazine. I've been emailed by a guy in the usa who wants to purchase the bike. It would obviously need shipping over there which is where the problems begin. What is the best way for the deal to be done, how do iask for my money and what is the safest way to ship the bike without being ripped off. Is there a safe way that he can send the money and i can ship the bike without any risk? I want it to be risk free or i won't bother doing the deal, any idea's?

    money....use paypal (paypal.com, free for most part) shipping....UPS, united parcel service hit up a bike shop and get a bike box, take bike apart and put in box, wrap pieces in bubble wrap so they don't scratch, ship it.

IT IS A SCAM. SOMEONE TRYING TO SEND YOU A PHONY CERTIFIED CHECK AND THEN HAVE YOU PAY WITH YOUR OWN CHECK FOR SHIPPING. THEN LIKE 4 WEEKS LATER THE BANK TELLS YOU THE CERTIFIED CHECK IS A PHONY TYPICAL SCAM DONT GET INVOLVED THINK. WHY WOULD SOMEBODY IN US WANT THAT BIKE? WE HAVE THOUSAND OF BIKES HERE FOR NEARLY FREE.

I smell a rat here. Trust your instincts on this. Why would someone in the States want to buy a bike from overseas with all the shipping costs. Unless this is a truly collectable item, I would be really cautious. If it all does seem cosher them some trust is needed by both parties. Personally I'd make sure the money is cleared in a bank account before shipping the bike. Good Luck.

For payment use PayPal, great service. Sign up at paypal.com. As for shipping, it would be best to contact a commercial shipper in your area. They would have experience is shipping objects such as bicycles. If would be a good idea to purchase insurance also.

I think Paypal is the way to go - you can be assured of your payment and he can have an assurance of recourse if the deal goes sour! UPS, DHUor some similar general carrier will probably work just fine for shipping. You'll want to check the pricing carefully. It could be quite expensive depending upon the carrier and the method of delivery. Make sure you work this out before settling on the final price.

This sounds a little dodgy to me as unless u r selling ur bike for a very low price then they would get a far better deal in the US. Think your best bet is to keep looking for a more local buyer where you can be sure the money will come through!!
