What are some good bmx grips?

My BMX Grips Are Moving?

  • I recently bought a new pair of grips for my BMX as the current ones that came with the bike were a disgusting orangey-brown colour. The ones that came with the BMX were easy to pull off. However, the grips I had purchased to put on my bike were extremely hard to put on so I used soap to attatch them. My grips are moving so every time I pull up on my bars to bunny hop, it is almost impossible as my grips twist. How can I prevent my grips from moving? I tried to use a hairdryer but that did no good. I don't really want to glue them on cos then when I buy a new set of bars, I would have to buy new grips which are an extra £8 ($15 approx.) atleast. Thanks! :)

  • Answer:

Take the grips off, thoroughly dry the inside of the grip and the bar's grip area, and then put a very small drop of hairspray on the inside edge of the grip. Put it on, and let it sit for at least an hour. Hairspray makes it easy to put on grips, but dries and sticks the grip on the bars. Soapy water doesn't really dry, so your grips will always move. Soapy water is really only used to remove grips.
