Who is a bike rider?

Which rider will go faster with which mountain bike?

  • rider A weight 50kg. bike weight 15kg rider B weight 70kg. bike weight 10kg lets assume that both rider ride as fast with same body weight and bike. which rider will be faster as on the above situation?

    it depends on the terrain, but if it is is flat or hilly, my money is with the b. mountain bike is not so much influence by the weight of the bike unless it is going downhill. one of the uk magazines tested a world champ xc racer very skinny against a much heavier regular joe and the heavy guy won on his trail

Not enough info for me to determine an answer. 1. Do both cyclists have the same body fat %? 2. What is the terrain? 3. Bike type would matter. 4. Rotational mass would matter. Where's the weight on the bikes?

rider A will be faster.... if i would reason out A has better balance and just weighs right for a cyclist rather than B. in addition, should the body be heavier by mass, it will be harder for B to cyc... but in the long run B is a better bet when it comes to endurance.. and another.. the weight of the bike doesn't really matter because the bike carriers the rider and not the other way round
