Which bicycle would you recommend?

Can you recommend a traditional style bicycle?

  • I am looking for a traditional womens bicycle, I really like the look of the pashley bicycles http://www.pashley.co.uk/lists/classic-bicycles.html especially the poppy. However I live in a hilly area and the pashleys have a steel frame and only 3-5 gears, can you recommend a bike with a similar style to the pashleys with a lighter frame and more gears. I also need one with a basket, or one that you can attach a basket to. thanks.

  • Answer:

Well if you have hills around your place, I'd suggest getting a bike with a nice wide range of gears. Without getting too technical about bike gearing and such, I'd suggest getting a light touring bike. It's a bike that has great gearing, and usually comes with a rack that you can mount pannier bags or a basket to. You can get them with many different kinds of handle bars, and they are usually very versatile. They cost about the same or less than the Pashleys too. I'd check out www.wiggle.co.uk to get an idea of what I'm talking about. Cheers.
