What mountain bike should I get?

  • I've started to ride an old bike I found at home and I'm starting to want to get more serious with it, so I'm looking to buy a new bike. I've done a little research and found a few that bikes I like that I'll paste below. I think a mountain bike will be the best choice for me because I want to be able to ride it on my farm, uphill and downhill on rocky and flat surfaces. I also want to be able to take it places to ride up large hills for the awesome view and want to be able to ride it normally on streets and in town. I don’t want something HUGE either because I want to be able to take it places, but if you have some ideas of big bikes just tell me.     First one has a short cage and few gears. Second one has a dent on the frame. Third and ford are fine. The other two have narrow, hybrid tires that may not be enough for the mountain paths but they look fine.

If you are looking for downhill bike as well don't even think about Trek-3900 and Cannondale Quick 3 because this two are hybrid bikes. My choice is Merida TFS XC-100 D but would prefer to have 29 inch mountain bike.

GMC Topkick Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike is a good bike - the best feature is the dual suspension. Light and easy dropping off curbs on the way to work - huge difference from my hardtail mountain bike. Disc brakes are nice to have, on front and rear - work much better than rim brakes. To adjust them hold the brake lever in and tighten them down via a hex wrench on the opposite center of the disc brake until the pads are flush against the disc, then turn back until the brake lever has enough play in it.
