What is a good bmx bike?

Is Mirraco Velle a good starter BMX bike? And what is the difference between Hi-Ten and Chromoly?

• Hi, I am a 13 year old boy, and I would like a BMX bike for my 14th birthday which is in April. I am about 170cm tall (whatever that is in feet,) and weigh roughly 160lbs(a bit too heavy for my age.) I have looked through three different BMX brands: SubRosa, Mirraco., and Verde. I read somewhere else that if the frame just says 'chromoly,' then there isn't a big difference between that and Hi-Ten, whereas if it says 'CrMo' or '4130,' there is. I am wondering which bike to get out of these three. PS. my budget is under 340 dollars, so PLEASE do not say 'save up and get a better one' because that doesn't help at all.   HiTen is High Tensile Steel. That means the bike frame is heavier, but stronger. CrMo, or Chromoly, is a lighter yet weaker frame. Most bikers ride with a chromo frame. When buying a bike, look for sealed hubs. Definitely go to your local bike shop and have someone help you pick out a bike. Don't get a bike because you want it now, but because you'll be using it later. What I mean by that is get a better bike that you can see yourself riding in the future, instead of an alright bike just to ride, because you'll pretty much be stuck with it for a while...
