Some BMX Questions. Help?
-
Hey everyone. I have been an on and off BMX rider for most of my life. Well I'm looking to get a new bike and brush up on my riding. So, since my old BMX is a big, crappy, flat, piece of poo, I'm looking for a new bike. And it's pointless to try and repair it. It's seen the end of its riding days. I was just wondering if any of you BMX enthusiasts think it would be better/cheaper to buy a complete bike, or buy your own parts. Like a Frame, tires, wheels, cranks, and all of that individually. I talked with my friend who has some $3500 Norco Downhill bike (crazy), and a $650 Eastern BMX, which I got to ride today. So to say the least, he's an experienced rider. And he said that it would be better/cheaper to buy the individual parts for my BMX rather than buy a complete. Also, I know that if I want to save time, I should but a complete. But I want to make my bike look good with a sick a Black, Orange, and White color scheme. Black frame, with orange and white highlights throughout. (like orange bars, orange rims, white saddle, white cranks, etc.) What are all your opinions for me? Thanks.

Answer:
well, I think you should just find a good complete bmx for around $600 and then it would have some Pretty good parts on it. After a while I would slowly start upgrading my bike eg i have a we the people trust and have Just got a new stem and back rim. so you know what i mean. If you do decided to get a complete bike make sur it has sealed bearing on the hubs and internal Bering's in the top tube. don't even think about getting a g.t, or a mongoose. If you want a good bmx that wont let you down try (in no order) 1.we the people 2.fit bike co 3.kink bmx 4.forgotten bmx 5.united bmx 6.hoffman 7.colony I dont know what country you live in so this make might-en me available to you. but try the sit it has some goo parts and completes.

In my opinion, I think it's better to just buy a brand new bike. Therefore, you won't have to worry about getting the right sized parts and putting them on. Also, A decent frame can cost almost as much as a BMX bike. At my opinion, you should buy a new bike all together. Then when you get more money, you can add new/better parts to that bike.
