Do White people have a stolen culture?

Ok... let's get specific... white people can trace their heritage to other countries where there are other white people... i.e. Ireland, England, Scotland, Germany and so forth... over time, they have melted into other heritages to become an American heritage. Just like you... you are not a true African... you are a black American... if you were a real African, you would practice things in your everyday life that would now seem odd to you... you are an American... so does that mean that you have no culture to define either? No. It just means that American is your culture,as it is mine. That is what America is all about. :)

Are you serious? Your forgetting about Scottish culture, Irish culture, German culture, french culture and Russian culture. What do you think Christmas trees come from the middle east? It was a German custom and it is not even Christian in origin. Halloween is an Irish thing. You really have to ask yourself who stole whose culture.

That IS a racist question!!! Europeans ARE white people and therefore there is a white culture. If you will do some research you will find that black American culture is a blend just like white American culture is a blend.

It is because "white" people come from all different European countries. Irish people have their own culture, German people have their own, French, Swedish, etc all have their own cultures. You can't lump all white people into one category and expect us to have one culture because we didn't all come from the same place. My father is German and my mother is Irish and French. Three very distinct countries yet everyone views me as just being white. My culture comes from all three of those countries. And yes, everything American is borrowed from other places because no one is native to this country except American Indians.

You are forgetting, America is the melting pot. We are where everybody else came to. England colonized here first to get away from being over taxed, Spaniards came here, everyone came here from some where else. The only true Americans are the American Indians, everybody else are just mutts from everywhere mixing together.

Well think about your question, which is racist. Culture isn't color. Culture is where people came from. So you would have to look at whites in America as having an American culture which is a melting pot of a bunch of different things as you mentioned. Germans for instance, a lot of them are fair skinned, yet their culture is quite different than the fair skinned people in the United States. There are even whites in Africa that celebrate an African Culture. White can't have a tradition because white is the color assigned to my skin color...not where my family came from. Black can't have a culture because it is the color assigned to skin, not where their family came from. What I want to know is why do people have to continually separate themselves into white and black and Hispanic and Asian...why can't you accept that to become a united people cultures need to unite and each person must understand and accept that everyone can have their own celebrations. Now I don't mean that something like KKK should exist because that is just hate...even Black Panthers can be seen as being about hate. MLK Jr had a true point, quit seeing color and race and culture and join hands with your neighbor and work and live together in peace and harmony. Don't make it so that man died in vain. Change our world by changing your view on mankind. We are not separated...we are one.

Every part of black "style" is borrowed from whites. Were guitars, pianos and brass carried to America on slave ships?? No, they were developed in Europe along with the concepts of melody, harmony, modes and scales, and the written form of the bass clef, the treble clef, and time signatures. The only thing black people brought to America was an instinct for rhythm and the ability make simple percussive intruments. They did not bring music, just rhthyms and chantings that (today) chracterizes rap music. Beginning with Gregorian chants through Classical forms and folk idioms(Celtic, Scotch-Irish, French, Germanic, Spanish etc.), all American music can be traced to Europe. Even the rock-and-roll backbeat had origins in Celtic music. The only original music of a non-Western origin involves the microtones (intervals smaller than a half-step) of Eastern music. What one refers to as "blues music" are flat-thirds, flat sevenths, and the passing tones of diminshed fifths and diminished sixths, all of which came from the modes of natural, melodic and harmonic minor scales, WHICH WERE CONCEPTS OF THE EUROPEANS. There is no historical evidence that Africans had any concept of the octave or twelve-tone scales. If you want to discover the roots of rock and roll, google "Jimmie Rodgers the singing brakeman." And the first Elvis hit was a cover of Bill Monroe's "Blue Moon of Kentucky" Black culture just seems to be a culture of misogyny and violence. And Italians are white, but nice try.

ummmm, I think you answered your own question, sort of. Unless you are of native American descent, you are of European heritage. Virtually all Caucasian immigrants who settled the USA were from somewhere in Europe.
