How can an MMA Company compete with the UFC?

What should I do for my future?

• I am a junior in high school. I have narrowed my future down to two options. My ultimate dreams in life are to be a French Foreign Legionnaire and a UFC fighter. I was initially going to join the French Foreign Legion and serve a five year contract from 18 years old to 23 years old, attaining experience and potential glove/belt colors in Savate (used heavily in the Foreign Legion) and Krav Maga, and compete in some practice spars and matches held in the Legion. After the contract finishes, I could go home and get a 2 year bachelors degree in something while training for Jiu Jitsu. However, my good friend convinced me to go to college first, and while getting a 3 (IB credit system) or 4 year masters degree, I can train to get a Jiu Jitsu black belt, and when I graduate I'd be 21, in athletic prime, fully understand French, and be able to make it into the Legion where I can learn Krav Maga and Savate. Straight after my contract I could go home and be ready for the UFC. I don't have a predicament with wondering if I would make it into the UFC, because I train very hard already with running every day and going to an MMA gym working on techniques. If I can attain a black belt in Jiu Jitsu and then the Legion can give me Savate AND Krav Maga experience while providing the calm learned in battle, willingness to win, refusal to give up, and the insane cardio (they run like double marathons sometimes...), I would without a doubt be ready for the UFC. I just don't know which plan sounds more viable.

  I think that your friend provided the best option. You will be better prepared for the French Foreign Legion that way. The extra skills you will have with you when you are 21 will give you a great benefit over what you would have at 18.
