What's The Best MSM For Horses?

Whats with the Amish getting away with abuse of horses just because its their way of travel ?

  • Why don't they go to court for mis-treatment of animals. If we were to have our horses run down standing at a site all tied up in the heat with no water looking like they are ready for the glue factory we would be arrested for animal abuse. Why is this allowed ? They come into our towns with these poor horses that are skin and bones and people think its so cute.I say it's sick to allow this . Whats your opinion?

  • Answer:

I used to live in an amish town... they are not cute, I am not an animal activist but the treatment of their animals is cruel at best. They are dehydrated and starved and poorly treated. But the truth of the matter is, they get away with more than they should, they do not have to go to war, they are not required to carry insurance in their vehicals, and the community turns it head to incest and child molesters... I could go on and on... they are also hypicrates too, but that is a whole new subject.

Certainly if the animals are being abused, report them. A horse standing in the heat looks tired and worn down and if you haven't seen them watered and are absolutely certain then do something about it. I was once reported for apparently not feeding all of my mares, that were standing around in a field. SPCA were told that I wasn't feeding them. They came to check me out. It was ludicrous of course. My animals were healthy and some chubby, specially the mares. Someone never saw hay in the pasture so they assumed I wasn't feeding them. They never saw that these animals were well looked after and fed twice a day, plus they still had the pasture. Just please be sure of your facts.....smile

Actually, I used to live up the street from some Amish. Their horses are PRIZED for being so gentle! They treat their livestock VERY well, especially compared to more "factory farms" and larger modern farms. Did you know that Amish don't ride horses? Amish also don't believe in corporal punishment, hitting, or physical abuse. This is why their horses are so tame, gentle, and even tempered... ofcourse, you'll have to saddle train it yourself! You probably saw a horse which had just got done doing hard work! Horses are delicate creatures, and I am not sure but I think that it's dangerous to feed and water them too soon after very much physical exertion.
