Question for the 90s kids?

Who else misses the 90s?

  • I was born in 1995, so I don't really remember that much of the '90s. But I really wish that I did. I love the '90s so much more than right now. Currently, our most popular songs are auto tuned crap and people are famous for having kids at 16 or being a greaser at the Jersey Shore. But in the '90s, everything was great. Alternative rock was really popular, and that is absolutely my favorite type of music. I love Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and old school Green Day. The TV shows were also better. Stuff like Friends and Seinfeld is so much better than what is on TV now. And the overall atmosphere is better. Nobody back then had stuff like caller ID, DVRs, or super hi-tech cell phones. And that's okay, because without that technology, we are able to live our lives more instead of just staring at a screen all day. So my question is: what do you miss most about the '90s? and if you were alive to remember it, would you go back?

  • Answer:

No, certainly not, and the years 1990, '91 and '92 were special ones for me, years that I felt, for once, young. That having been said, I would not want to go back to that person I was then, someone who needed more confidence, who really was just beginning to grasp what essentially was me, the person I was meant to be. All of the cultural references produce a moment of whimsy, but the only thing I can say that is special about that era versus today is the lack of fear of terrorism; it was incomprehensible, back then, to imagine the world as it is today, to face the fact that this haven of security will never be so secure as it once was. All in all, it is the person we are in time that matters, rather than the period of time itself.

I miss how young I was in the 90s. I know we're not supposed to live with regret, but if I could live through that decade again, I'd make some vastly different decisions.

I was born in 1991, and when i was like 10, our generation was not dressing like we were 20 like 10 years old do now ;/ and sega genesis. lol we also lived through the boy band invasion Lmao. I wish i was older, cuz loved the music scene of the early 90s with AIC, nirvana etc. thumbs up if born in the 90s, or lived through it as teen or something - - d

Heck yeah, the 90s were a golden age. Great music, great movies. Quality coffee and beer made a major comeback. The economy was great and there weren't many wars or all this terrorism crap. Good times. In college '92-'97.

Eh, the only thing I really miss about the 90s is some people (one who passed away). Also, Nirvana sucks, and they sucked back then, too. The 90s gave us Oasis. Think about that: O A S I S. The 90S also gave us this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IX380vS_Mzs and Lambada and Gerardo (Rico Suave song), and so many other crappy things. Remember that awful TV show with the skinny female lawyer (Ally McBeal)? Also the 90s. You only see the "good" stuff. Some of us had to live through the crappy stuff.

Not me! I thought the 90's sucked! I grew up in the 70's and 80's and those are the generations that were better in my opinion. The music was great (Boston, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, Quiet Riot, Iron Maiden, etc), musicians back then actually had talent. There were actually decent TV shows to watch as well in those days, unlike this modern reality TV crap. Cars looked like cars and not ugly aerodynamic eggs on wheels. Cars were also big, cheap to buy and maintain, and fuel was cheap. Cost of living and taxes were lower, and there were jobs everywhere, and political correctness did not exist so you could say what you wanted and nobody was "offended." Yeah the 70's and 80's were great, unlike the 90's and the 2000's that suck big time.

I was born in '86, so I experienced the 90s from age 4-13. I remember Green Day and the grunge rock (Nirvana) genre being popular...also Will Smith was popular if you were into hip hop. Aside from the good music, what I miss most about the '90s was just being that age. Middle school was a great period of my life and I don't see it being defined in terms of what was on T.V. or what music was popular. I think any decade you grow up in you can make enjoyable if you hang out with good friends and (as you mentioned) get off the couch and experience reality.

i was born in 1996 but i would have liked to watch the SNL's back then with Jon Lovitz, Phil Hartman, Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, Tim Meadows, Norm Mcnanold, Kevin Nealon, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Shnieder, Adam Sandler, and last but sertainly not least my favorite and in my opinion the best of the 90's cast Chris Farley. SNL now sucks it was nothing like the 90's.

Nuh uh!!!!!! I was born then too, but seriously? the BEST era we missed was the 80's!!!! Pop, fashion, culture. Movies: Ferris Bueller's Day Off!!!!! The Breakfast Club!!!!! Music: Blondie, Pink Floyd, Micheal Jackson TV Shows: Golden Girls, Full house, the original Saved By The Bell I wish I lived in the 80's. :(

Oh my gawd.....don't you get me started on that! LOL I miss the nineties very badly. Those were very calm times to live in, and we still had some jobs back in those days. Cool movies like Jurassic Park, etc. Everything these days seems to be shot to shet.
