Help help With my jobs?

Can you help me think of extreme jobs?

• I'm working on a project for school where we have to write a fake cultural/political article on a controversial topic (however it has to have an unreal twist). I have chosen to write about people living in MEDC countries who are in extreme poverty. They do not have any qualifications to get good jobs, so they are being hired by underground companies and organisations to be "slaves" of sorts. I don't have any ideas for the jobs they can actually do, however the jobs must be extreme and unpleasant jobs (such as performing tasks which put you in dangerous and life-threatening situations) and they must receive a paycheck below minimum wage. I am angling for a sympathetic article which looks at how these people are being forced to work to earn money to buy food for themselves and basic necessities. Do you have any ideas for potentially frightening, upsetting and dangerous jobs which do not exist already (and they have to be appropriate to put in my school work!)?
