What do you think of Italy?
-
Hi! I'm an Italian student and I'd like to know your idea about Italy (that's for a research I've to do for my class). So, if you've already visited my country, I ask you to answer the few following questions. I'LL GIVE 10 POINTS TO THE ONE I'LL CHOSE FOR MY RESEARCH. First of all. - Your name (if you want to tell me) - Your age - Your job - Where you live (country, city) QUESTIONS 1) Thinking of Italian culture, do you think it has something in common with your culture? If yes, what? 2) What differences do you think there are between your culture and Italian one? 3) What do you think are the positive aspects of Italian culture? and the negative ones? 4) What similarities and what differences do you think there are between the average Italian person and the average person of your country? 5) What idea do people (of your country) generally have about Italians?

Answer:
Elizabeth 17 Student Malta 1. Oh yeah sure. We're both Mediterranean countries, and I guess there must be something in common. For certain, the food...i love italian food which in my opinio is ery similar to Malta's. Also certain traditions like religious feasts, especially those in Sicily r very similar. 2. Well I think the citizens attitudes in generall. I have been in Italy 3 times in my life, and watch a lot of italian tv, so I guess I hv got a quite good idea. I think they r mor eopen 2 new things than Malta, more developed in a certain way I guess I mean it is a much bigger country. 3. POsitive aspects ...well alot, the food (pizza and la cassata siciliana), the country itself (mountains, lakes my fave one is lago maggiore), the music (i love laura pausini), its history, eerything. Well negative aspects I guess certain areas r sort of emarginated, u know d differences dere is between d South and North, certain old mentalities, I guess ceratin hospital services and u know the known 'mafia'. 4. Speaking regarding appearance, i think we r quite similar. Typical mediterranean people. On the other hand, beliefs, well d majority r both catholic, I think we r both a jolly population who always helps d ones who r in need. 5. Well our idea usually depends on the football. U hv 2 know dat in Malta, d majority r either England fans (me being one of them) or Italian fans (my sis being one of dem who is in 'love' with Totti lol). Those who r italian fans usually love everything in Italy and it is one of d preferred destinations for a holidays. Also, here in Malta, w ewatch a lot of Italian tv (Rai, Mediaset etc) and even italian films (La Vita e' bella - i simply luv it). So even if i am an england fan i still love italy and eveything about it. hope this helps and good luck 4 ur research, if u need to know anything else just ask
