What are some unique/interesting colleges?

If most whites aren't racist why don't they go to black colleges?

  • I see Blacks going to white colleges alot but at most black colleges it's like 1-2% whites. You claim that you aren't racist but you are scared to go to white colleges because they're predominately black. That sounds racist to me. Black colleges even give the whites that do go there full tuition, plus it seems like the blacks suck up to the white students there. Heck I know blacks that would go agianst me for a white person (whether it's right or wrong). Many Black Colleges rank higher than white colleges in academics. So why not go to a black college? 80% of Black colleges have less crime than white Colleges. My point is don't complain about reverse discrimination unless you've tried every avenue (including black colleges) an all have turned you down.

    I often wondered the same thing. It's crazy because a white person can get tons of grants for attending a Historically Black Colege or University (HBCU). A white person would really have no problems socially (unless they were racist) at a black school. And if you pick the right program at the right school, you would be getting one heck of an education. Student to teacher ratios are better, and there is definetly a sense of school spirit. HBCU's no matter what the student body size is, have a sense of family. Also the professors there are there because they care about what they do, not because it is convienent.

Your argument makes no sense..why would someone white want to go somewhere YOU keep saying is a BLACK college? Yes they are able to go there, but why does it matter where they go, its their business..you aren't paying for it.

please don't be ignorant--- black colleges are there to accomodate black students- they were started because black kids couldn't get into college because of their color- black colleges RARELY accept white kids for that reason- have a groovy day

Can you explain to me why Black Colleges exist? Why aren't they just Colleges? I imagine white's just found a "college" . I don't know anyone who looked for a "white college" to go too. Having Black Colleges promotes racism.

Listen sweetie, if you ask people, I am sure that 95% of them will tell you that they had NO idea that black colleges accept white students. They believe the whole purpose of the colleges was to cater exclusively to black students. What you need to ask is WHY haven't the black colleges done enough to counter that perception if it is indeed false. Stop witch hunting for racism where it does not exist.

Do not confuse racism with fear. Or with lack of attraction to a particular school. To me, going to a predominately black college would be little different than attending a family reunion with my in-laws. I'd be one of the only whites there in both cases. However, unlike many blacks, whites won't have had the traditional family and cultural ties to a traditionally black school. Being the only smart-A$S white boy (my wifes name for me) there wouldn't have been a problem, but still there's no attraction due to tradition or culture. This ranks up there as about as logical as saying if you don't date out of your race you are racist.
