What do these lines about Achilles and Odysseus indicate?

• After leaving Aeaea, Odysseus ventured into Hades. There, Odysseus met his former comrade, Achilles. Odysseus claimed that Achilles was powerful even in death: “there’s not a man more blest than you… you lord it over the dead in all your power” (Homer 265). However, Achilles would rather live in poverty than to rule the dead. He stated, “no winning words about death to me, shining Odysseus!
