I want to be an investigator?

I want to become a Paranormal Investigator. How can I get into this???

  • I am very interested in the paranormal and would love to become a paranormal investigator. I have searched everywhere for something on this but can't find much info on how to get into it. Do I have to do a course in parapsychology first? If anyone has any information on this or any useful addresses or websites I would be grateful.

There's some great stuff on here my dear: http://www.tomsgadgets.com/products/products.aspx?cat2=18&l=4 Qualifications are not a requirement, just enthusiasm, an open mind, & an understanding of the equipment you use. e.g. An emf meter may show 'activity' in a certain place, but this may well be electrical wires running behind a covered wall. Beware of the kind of people who claim to see or feel a 'presence' every time they enter a supposedly 'paranormal' area. Most are publicity-seeking frauds. Take care, & have fun .. :)

I think you should just pick yourself some haunted building and do your investigative works. Once you've produced someting then perhaps you can publish your results in papers or you could even try to sell them to a broadcasting company. You could write a book on it. You need to get your name known for you to be called into places for paranormal investigation.

My daughter is also interested in the paranormal, she asked at the college she goes too if she could take a para-psychology course, while taking psychology, her tutor said there was no such course, so i would be interested as well as my daughter on how someone becomes a para-psychologist

Yes. Read up on the subject, follow any related courses, take psychology courses, philosophy, alternative spirituality if you can get your hands on it - etc. Build up as much relevant knowledge as you can manage. Keep your eyes open for practical experience. Make sure you take the opportunity to hear lectures on this subject, meet the lecturers. Make sure you use any contacts you can to get that practical experience... Any investigator is going to have a lot of hard work. Investigation is solitary work, that takes a lot of initiative, lonely hours in the library or archives etc. Show your commitment by getting all the knowledge you can get your hands on.
