Where was Atlantis?

Where can I read Plato's atlantis?

  • I want to read Plato's original accounts of atlantis, but I can't find it anywhere online, and online is preferable, though I will accept a book title. And also, I heard a reference on a tv show, stating that Atlantis/Tartessos/Tarshish, had access to gold, silver, and copper, but also was home to a miracle metal, that "lowed like fire' and was called Orichalk. It sounds like a fantastic missing ancient invention, like greek fire, or flexible glass, and yet I can't find ANY reference to it. I can't find anything on orichalk, maybe I'm not spelling it right, is it orechalk, aurachalk, what?

  • Answer:

Plato's original tales of Atlantis didn't come from a story entitled "Atlantis", but the two stories named after the Egyptian priests that told it to him "Timaeus" and "Critias".
