Are you flabergasted when certain people say that the Holocaust never happened???

I am disgusted but not flabbergasted. As is often the case with anti-Semitism, racism, sexism, or homophobia, it is interestingly only those who have a keen investment in the Holocaust not having happened who can maintain with a straight face that it never occurred. How convenient.

I will never forget when I first heard of people denying the Holocaust. All my life, since I was old enough to understand it, I believed the Holocaust happened, and I also believed that it was an undeniable part of history, the same way we know that the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. My senior year in high school we had a speaker at our school. My World Issues teacher required us to attend. The speaker talked about what it would have been like if we lived during the time of the Holocaust and were Jewish. He went through the scenarios from being arrested to being killed. He broke off in seperate directions to show what would happen if we were male, female, old, or young. At the end of his presentation he talked about some of the times when he has given this speech and been interrupted by people who did not believe him. They would basically scream and yell obscenities at him until he was not able to present the information. I was stuified at this. I had never hear or even thought about someone dnying that it happened. I know it takes all kinds in this world but that made me very upset.

I'm pretty flabbergasted too. How did he explain the sudden disappearance of 6 million people? (Jews among others)

what is this world comming to....? sooo many innocent people died in the holocaust, if it didnt happen then why are there so much of the evidence that it did in the holocaust memorial museaum?

Usually you'll find that it's prejudiced people who make those claims. By denying that bad things ever happened to a minority group, they effectively deny that group's history and thus give themselves an excuse to repeat it.

Holocaust deniers practice a form of anti-Semitism by denying the Jewish people sympathy for being slaughtered by the millions. These people usually have some other problem with Jews and tend to think the Holocaust is some story created to help them out in some way. The leader of Iran is also a "denier" and thinks that Jews fabricated the Holocaust to gain help and sympathy from the world stage.
