Tarot Cards: pros & cons?

What are the pros & cons on tarot cards? Any advice? Minor arcana? The real magic on tarot cards.

Answer:
Spirit mediums and psychics (and yes Tarot readers are also included) should be avoided at ALL COST. We know this because we have the Divine education of Jehovah Gods word, The Bible. So with all this in mind let us take a look at how our Heavenly Father looks on and views this weighty matter. GALATIANS 5:19-21 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, 20 idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects, 21 envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning YOU, the same way as I did forewarn YOU, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s kingdom. LEVITICUS 19:31 31 “‘Do not turn yourselves to the spirit mediums, and do not consult professional foretellers of events, so as to become unclean by them. I am Jehovah YOUR God. DEUTERONOMY 18:10-12 10 There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, 11 or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. 12 For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you. So as you can see from the Scriptures above, conducting or taking part in this practice is a detestable thing to Jehovah God (PSALMS 83:18) and should be avoided.

I must confess I'm a little surprised at how many people regard a pro of tarot because it's "cool" and trendy and for getting to have a nose into other people's lives - tarot isn't intrusive at all and don't even understand that. Tarot will give you as much pro's and cons depending on what you want out of them if I am honest. It all depends on yourself. It also is a case as you will get as much out of tarot from what you put into it. It's definitely a two way street. It is a wonderful thing to get into it feels refreshing and is a way to calm and relax as way as help more directly to a situation. Minor arcana is easier learned in groups. I, personally, tackled them in two ways; learn the meanings of what all aces/twos/threes etc mean on their own and then look at how they correspond to the major arcana (aces being like fool, two's being like magician etc). Pros: It will let you have a very useful tool to give you a fuller insight at a situation, it will give you options and can encourage people when they need it most. That is the main one and it doesn't sound a lot but it is worth it's weight in gold. Other pro's is that it makes for an excellent hobby and you can get a good social feel from joining forums and talking to other people with the same interests and can even be a real hobby with collecting decks (such an addictive thing!). And the learning is fun, rewarding and interesting - I've never felt it was a con You also meet really nice people and if doing some small readings for people you can meet great people from it with interesting stories and from all walks of life - it never ceases on all of the people you meet. To do tarot reading for someone else though you really must be a people person and be careful as it's a big responsibility as many use it as a way of council. Cons On the rare occasion you can get a bit of grief, if not from someone who is determined that it's stupid, then from someone who is determined to challenge you and see what you know. It's not a huge "con" as really, it's a matter of standing your ground and not giving in to their level but as I say, cons depend on yourself and it might be a big issue for someone else There is so much stipulation and reinforcement of how "there's so many misconceptions" and people make it sound off-putting. It's never really been an issue to explain to a person what it does. My pet hate is almost every time someone will say "oh I know there is so many misconceptions" You must remember that tarot is a belief system and it doesn't mean a "misconception" more than it does than someone practices different from you - if you are going to do tarot then please don't make the mistake of thinking that someone believing the tarot is magic or has feelings means they are wrong - it just means they use them differently. (It's one thing to say that popular belief is that they don't or if someone is asking but I mean more to force the own opinion).
Okay, so my idea of the pros and cons of reading tarot cards would be...... Pros: A good insight to a question or a concern that you have. Some advice. Thoughtful and sincere understandings and an explanation. Beautiful imagery to allow your mental mind to flow in what ever direction you want. Cons: They could be just telling you what you want to know. Possibly use psychology to gain a better understanding of a situation. Leads to thoughts of thinking that things are set in stone, or that things have to be this way because the tarot card says so. Tarot cards are amazing. If you ever start doing readings for your self or others, you could eventually end up doing oracles too and other forms of divination.
I collect decks and do readings. The only cons are that people may come to expect too much from a reading. Some people want to know things as if Tarot cards were something you can clearly see the future with. Another con is that there's so many of them, it takes a while to learn them all. The pros are infinite :-) You get a cool rep for knowing the cards and doing readings, you get in touch with your inner self by doing self-readings, you see insight into other peoples' lives, etc etc etc. My advice is to find a deck you really like, one that you can hold comfortably in your hands, one that has artwork that speaks to you, and buy a book and go from there. I recommend the Gilded Tarot learning box.

Some cons are that someone could get mad at you for what you tell them during the reading or people may come to expect too much from a reading. Some people want to know things as if Tarot cards were something you can clearly see the future with. Another con is that there's so many of them, it takes a while to learn them all. A pro is everyone will think you are so cool because of them.
Have you ever asked yourself why you find things like this so fascinating? The reason, I suspect, is because down inside you feel uncertain and nervous about the future and think these things might help you feel more confident. But this is precisely why I urge you to put your trust in God alone for the future. As I have often said, predictions like these about the future are almost never on target (or else they are too vague to really mean anything). Why build your life around them or get your guidance from them? They are only a substitute for the guidance you really need—which is from God. My other concern, however, is one that I hope you will take very seriously. These things may seem innocent and amusing at first—but it's easy to get more and more fascinated with them, and eventually become involved in occult practices that are not from God. Don't be misled: Occult practices are not from God, but from spiritual forces opposed to God. Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ. When we know Him, we know we are safely in His hands no matter what the future holds. The Bible is right: "When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists ... should not a people inquire of their God?" (Isaiah 8:19). http://peacewithgod.jesus.net/god-so-loved-the-world/

The cons: Not much other then the false beliefs of them. There are so many misconceptions I wouldn't even know where to begin. Pros: The clear insight on what is going on. They get to the heart of the matter, the true issue surrounding the situation.
