How many species of mammals has been discovered till now?

Are 'ghosts' a species we have not discovered?

• It may seem weird but, from many experiences with ghosts, I have led to the conclusion that, ghosts may be another species we have not discovered, why Do I think this? Well first of all, how can ghosts function without a brain? It's really strange for something to react humanly like, without a brain. Can ghosts perhaps be aliens? Another reason I believe ghosts are another species is becuase, how can there be few ghosts, when there have been more than a trillion people that have died, I mean the amount of people that have died is endless. If you do not think ghosts are another species, tell me why? And don't say stupid things like "ghosts aren't real" because I personally believe they are real and I can distinguish reality between imagination, and sure it could be your self conscious, but it's not your conscious when more than 2 people can hear what the other person is hearing at the same time. So please share and answer my question, this is a serious question and who knows, we might learn weird things.

  It's an interesting idea, but I honestly don't know. I tend to think they're humans, possibly humans from another "dimension" or "plane" or something (hell, I don't know), that have somehow crossed into ours as a freak accident or rare occurrence of some sort. I am a nonreligious, skeptical person. I do not believe things are real for irrational or emotional reasons. I, too, have seen a "ghost" (I'll use that word although I don't really think of it as a dead person's spirit floating around). I saw the same one on more than one occasion. I heard his voice. My mother saw him on a separate occasion. Several events occurred over the course of ten years that leave me feeling frustrated, puzzled, and fascinated. I will continue to research what I experienced until the day I die. There IS an answer--a reasonable, scientific explanation--although I have zero idea what it is. I do know, however, that I am NOT delusional and I did not hallucinate, nor did my mother.
