Large black cat in superstition?

  • I need to know what the significance of seeing a large black cat is. The cat described would be very large, the size of a large dog, and fast, only appearing for brief instances. Any help would be great. Thanks.

For many years black cats were actually thought of as good luck, as long ago as when the ancient Egyptian empire was the dominant power. Even still today, many cultures associate black cats with good luck. It has only been during the last few hundred years that black cats have been associated with the night, and with that associated with witches. I'm not sure what to tell you about it being the size of a large dog...that is one big cat.
