What is wrong with Discovery Channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????

  • I let my son watch tv, he is only 10 and his best channel is Discovery Channel. I watch it all the time. We watch mostly Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters. I've seen every show there is. But this time when i walked in his room, he was watching Discovery Channel as always, but when i saw what he was watching on there, IT WAS TEACHING HIM ABOUT MALES AND FEMALES, AND HOW THEY HAVE SEX! WHAT IS UP WITH THE DISCOVERY NETWORK? DO THEY KNOW HOW MANY KIDS WATCH THAT CHANNEL? I made sure it was the discovery channel because it was channel 15, and it had the discovery logo on it.

    Yes you cannot leave kids to watch any channel anymore because of things they slip in. i know I have been very surprised for myself about what they have on especially this ghost hunting show which brings fear to kids and they do not need any.

You act like people having sex is the worst thing he could possibly see. How much violence does he watch, I wonder? Best thing you can do is teach him how to think critically about what he watches and teach him that what he watches is HIS responsibility, not the TV's.

If your kid is 10 and doesn't know about the difference between males and females then you are the problem not a TV channel. It's also up to you as a parent to supervise your children, it's not the job for a TV channel. Furthermore, it's called the DISCOVERY channel and sexual discovery also counts as discovery no matter if you like it or not.

If it's the Discovery >Health< Channel then there is your answer, and on most occasions if it is the regular Discovery Channel then those shows (most of the time) air at night/early morning when children are usually not awake. You let him watch it, it seems like you haven't stopped him.

I noticed you let him watch Dirty Jobs I am guessing you haven't seen the numerous episodes that deal with animal sexual organs, inseminating a cow and all those sexual things. You don't seem to have a problem with them yet you have a problem with him learning about the human body?
