Do you believe in Hell?
-
I don't. Ok I think the whole religion thing is BS, i think creation and all this is a joke, i believe religion is just so people have something to believe in. It's a nice idea that you have to be good and your reward is heaven. I believe you should treat people how you want to be treated, Karma will get you back and try not to kill, steal or lie. That being said, I was an alter server and go to mass mostly to make my nana happy or else she would curse me and say i was going to hell. But, do you believe in hell? The God i grew up learning about is a forgiver, and if you do sin you hang out in Purgotory for a while and work it off, then you go to heaven. God is loving and wouldn't condem anyone of his children to an eternity in hell. Sure him and the Devil are not friends so they don't do deal with each other like "O you can have him he's not bad enough for me" or whatever. Just lead a good life and you'll be ok. Nana believes though, that if you sin and don't say sorry to God you will be condemed to hell forever. Even if you white lie you go to hell. If you say **** you go to hell. It's a joke. Now we did watch a documentry on hell before and she almost **** herself but i was laughing because the people were nut cases saying they had been to hell.. What do you think?

If you think there is no truth to religion, then where does your belief in Karma come from? I believe Hell exists for those who are not willing to try to live in the way God wants us to live. God is a forgiver. But, forgiveness can only be given to those who are willing to be forgiven.

heaven and hell is real! God is forgiving only if you ask for forgiveness. How would you like to live your whole life on earth partying and and doing wrong things then when you get to heaven you find out hell is real and thats where you end up for ALL of eternity. You would be stuck in hell and you could not have a second chance. The good news is here on earth you can have a second chance. All you have to do is ask God for it and he will give you forgiveness. I pray you will give your life to Jesus and have great rewards in heaven. :)

Actually I was shocked when I noticed the answers here. The HELL is a real place. I can't believe you are so deceived by Satan. He's a smart guy, isn't he? He managed to deceive about 80% of the world population so far. How can you be so blind? Most people believe in Heaven, but deny the existence of Hell. Why? Maybe because they know that's the place they are going to, and they simply prefer to think Hell it's just a story. Well, what about the evidences? What about all the people who saw Hell? How is that possible? I don't know how many of you know what's clinical death. You are clinically dead when the heart and respiration stops. All hope is not out, because in a certain timeframe after cardiac arrest, it is in many cases possible to jumpstart the heart again, and get respiration going by applying first-aid. Even if the first aid does not succeed in getting the heart and respiration started again, it may give the patient enough oxygen so that the brain does not die, and more advanced methods of starting the heart can be applied. Also, cold temperatures slows the time it takes for cells to die, so people that drown in cold water often can be revived for a longer time period than those that drown in warmer water. Persons with low body mass cool quicker than persons with high body mass, and this is one of the reasons why kids have a greater chance of being revived after drowning and being submerged for a long time in cold water than adults. It may help to understand the various versions of being dead by understanding that death is not an event, but a process. If we take the case of cardiac arrest, the first thing that happens after the heart stops to beat, is that blood is no longer pumped through the body. Cells still have oxygen present that they can use, and the blood bathing the cells will also contain some oxygen. This oxygen gets rapidly depleted, and cells starts to work anaerobically. Some cells are specialized in working under anaerobic conditions, such as the muscle cells. It takes a long time before a muscle cell die because of that. Other cells, such as brain cells, do not deal very well with anoxia, and because of this, brain cells die after just a few minutes without oxygen supply. Cold temperature may increase the time it takes for the brain cells to die, because chemical reactions occur slower rates at lower temperatures. This is the first part of death, and it happens during the first 5 minutes after cardiac arrest (may be longer in cold water). Everything but the brain damage is reversible during this stage. And even with some brain damage, it is possible to train other undamaged parts of the brain to do some of the functions that the old damaged parts did before. But in general, the longer it takes before basic first aid is applied, the greater the chance of permanent brain damage or even unsuccessful revival. when all the parts of the brain, including the brain-stem, are non-functional, the person goes from clinically dead to irreversibly dead. Even at this point, many other cells in the body is still alive. One of the longest lived cell types are those of the cornea, as these get oxygen from the air, not from blood. I can probably give a long speech about the later changes after death, but I think I will stop here. Well, during this state many people declared they have seen hell while being "not yet dead". And all of them were atheists, some were great scientists who didn't believe in Hell, just as you! This can't be autosuggestion! Of course their life has been totally changed after that experience! Search on Youtube if you don't believe me! Do you still doubt the existence of Hell? The evidences speak for themselves!
I believe in Hell. I'm not sure if the fires are literal or an allusion to Gehinom, derived from the Valley of Hinnom where garbage, animal carcasses, and the bodies of criminals were incinerated, to capture the horror of it. I'm also not sure whether the eternal torment or annihilationist view is correct. I've seen Scriptural support for both. As for a loving God sending souls there, he doesn't. If you go through your life stating that you want nothing to do with God would it be loving of him to force you to spend eternity with a being you don't want to be around? It would be akin to spouses divorcing, one still loves the other, and they come by every day for a visit, even though the visited can no longer stand the visitor.

i believe in reincarnation. Though i use to be Christian, and believed on hell, i do not any longer. If God would so easily put people of other religions and beliefs into erentral fire and brimstone simply for loving him in different ways, then that would not be a God i want to worship. That is not forgiving and loving, and merciful. I understand the Jesus thing, but i also know you should worship the Deity who you wish, not how your told. Therefore, the concept of the christian hell does not affect me. I do not think it exists. I th ink, actually, that we create our own hells. Each one of us is improsioned everyday of our lives by greed, hatred, sorrow, etc... the day to day strains of life is our bondage. Our thoughts are our fire and brimstone. Are deeds and the deeds of others is our punishment. I believe in Karma( the just punishment given for our wrong deeds against ourselve and others). Live your life as best you can and do no harm to none, lest it come back to you threefold. I pay we spend our lives paying back our karma, from both this life and past ones where the karma was left unfinished. Life itself is hard enough. Our hell is here, in our minds, the minds of others, and expands into our daily activites and happenings. When i die, i believe i will be reincarnated. And will continue to be reincarnated until i learn and do everything i was meant to. Then i will go to that perfect place where the Lord and Lady reside and be with them. Hell does not factor into that equation. For all i know we all go where we believe we will go. If you believe in nothing, maybe nothing will happen, if your christian ,maybe you will be judged. When it comes to the after life, i really haven't a clue, just my own beliefs. My belief in reincarnation explains so much to me. Why i do some things i do, why i fear things that make no sense to me, etc... So the base of this answer is, yes i do believe in hell, but not the christian hell. I believe we create our own hells.

The word "Hell" was stolen from heathen faiths. The original word used was "sheol" and means "grave". Hel is actually the name of a goddess in my faith. Her name meals "whole" and "hole". Her hall is called Helheim and it's where many of our beloved dead rests. (Unless they died honorably in battle, then they go to Valhalla or Folkvangr.) There's nothing bad or scary about it, really.

I think its sweet of you to do that for your nana even though you don't believe in it. I still believe in a Hell, I think that if I do to many bad things, its going to bite me in more ways than just Karma. I never really cared what everyone else believed, the way I see it is you believe what you want, and I believe what I want, as long as you don't force your religion on me, I don't care. Besides, I'd rather not take my chances just to find out there is a Hell, ya know?
