What is the Celtic knot?

I really need to know the meaning of the knot heart celtic symbol and maybe the celtic ring has well the combo?

  • my question may sound wierd i was given by a dear friend a celtic heart on a silver necklace and also celtic ring with knots has well i really need the meanings u see the necklace almost impossible at times to get off and the ring will just fall off that when the necklace 1st became almost inpossible to remove?.please HELP!
