Anyone ever live in a real haunted house?

Answer:
Yes, my last house was haunted by the spirit of the woman who had died there in 1999. I had never seen a picture of her. My mother in-law inherited the house from her, and we moved into it. My infant son was staying in the room next to ours which was in the process of being changed from the office. This room held a few computer cables in the box about two feet from his bed. At four thirty in the morning, I heard a woman say very clearly, "The baby..." I figured I was dreaming and went back to sleep. A very cold hand touched my arm and shook me. I woke up and there was a woman I'd never seen before with curly shoulder length red hair in a blue bathrobe. As I realized I could see through her, she pointed and said, "The baby is in trouble." I'm pretty freaked out by this point, but I run out to the baby's room. Somehow, he'd managed to pull a cord out of the box and it was wrapped around him. He couldn't move. He couldn't cry. I unwrapped him, picked him up, and turned around, crying. The woman was still there, crying as well. I said, "Thanks..." in a very shaky voice. She nodded, and vanished. My husband walks into the room a few minutes later looking for me. I told him what happened. He asked if I was very sure of what she looked like. I said, "Of course I am.. the woman saved our baby!" The next day his mother arrived with a photo albumn. Looking through it, I saw a picture and asked her who it was. It was the woman she inherited the house from, a friend who happened to be a former elemenentary school student. She died in the very room where my son was staying. Her grandson also used to stay in that room. And yes, that was the woman who woke me up.

Yes. I lived in a 1829 stone farmhouse in Pennsylvania for about 10 years in bucolic Bucks County, and we definitely had a presence from another world. When we moved in I was skeptic and never believed in ghosts (or stuff like that). After the first few months in the house, I had to re-educate myself to something I never thought existed. My wife and children also experienced it on a regular basis. Even guests. I have so many events, stories, some funny, some so curious, that I will indeed end up writing a book about it. This forum is not the most appropriate place for long explanations, but feel free to contact me in other fashions, and I will be happy to discuss further. Now that I live away from that house, I must say I truly miss the ghost, who I named William one day out of the blue after the first appearance (However, later, after research in local libraries, we found out that the first owner of the house and builder was named William Terry! What a coincidence, ah?). Living in a haunted house became a challenge, but as long as you are OK with it, it then becomes a question of compromises and acceptance. And a great experience to live without fear, but with a sense of curiosity and learning.

Yes My Dad bought his 'dream house' when I was 13. I happened to be about 1/4 mile from the house I grew up in. The house was already about 145 years old when we got it. I had no idea of the history of the place other that it was build by the family that the road it was on was named after. During the first year we had to remodel the whole interior of the house before we could even move in. It is in a very rural area and at that time I used to go on walked in the afternoons. Before long I found myself always walking to our 'new' house without knowing why. (I didn't have a key so I couldn't get in.) One day I looked up into the window that was in my future room and there was a little girl looking out at me. I was convinced that my parents were there showing someone the house. The door was locked and no cars around anywhere. When I looked back at the window the little girl was gone. I saw her several times over several weeks but I didn't tell anyone, I knew my Mother would think I was crazy. After we moved in my Grandmother came to spend the night and she stayed in my room with me. The next morning she told my Mother that she had woke up in the middle of the night and say a little girl rubbing my legs. (Weird thing...at the time I had blood clots in my legs and often couldn't sleep due to muscle spasms. The had mysteriously gotten better after we moved in.) We still didn't tell anyone about this yet I had at least 4 other people who say they have seen the same little girl in my room. Years later I found out that the family who built the house had a little girl that was disabled somehow and that she had been kept locked in the room I slept in with little attention or love. In those days that what people did unfortunately I have always wondered if she was just trying to give me the love and attention she never got. Lots more stories about her but I have rambled enough.
