What does a black stone represent?

"what does a black stone mean to a mason"?

  • a guy showed me a shiny black stone , he is a mason what does the black stone represent

  • Answer:

It depends on what order he belongs to. There are thousands!(The Knights of Malta, Holy order of the rosy cross, Scottish rite masons, ect...) They all have differant interpretations of history, religion, and symbolism. In some, the black stone is a representation of "the black stone" of the Ka'aba of Mecca. Some believe this stone is a meteorite that comes from Orion. Fragments of this stone are sent to wherever on earth a spiritual mission is needed. Others see black stones as negative, the Ka'aba of Mecca is believed by others that it was once white- and is stained black by our sins. Black stone as you can see hold positive and negative meanings. Death, life, rebirth, negativity, dark magical use, protective magical use. There is no way to know what his stone means unless you know what Rite he is a member of.
