What volunteer work can a 16 year old do at a hospital?

    You have to call your local hospitals and ask if they have a volunteer program because some of them don't have one. And there's always lots to do. When I work I manage the front desk with a few friends and it's really fun...as nerdy as that sounds. We just answer phones, deliver things, tell people where to go, and basically anything else patients need. However there are a lot of other jobs too regardless of age (I'm also 16)...like working directly with patients, doing clerical work, helping out in the gift shop or the ER, and so much more depending on the hospital you work at. i have tried every hospital within an hour radius from where i live, and im 16. i have had a hard time. there are candy stripers, but anymore they just call them volunteers. there are very few places that actually let you work on the floor or with patients. they have jobs like answering phones or working in the candy shop. so if you find anything...good luck. :)
