Where can I volunteer?

Where are places that i can volunteer at or do community service as a teenager?

• I'm already a sophomore in high school & i should really start volunteering at places so it will look good on a college application and stuff. i don't really want to do community service in an animal shelter (not an animal person). So where else can you volunteer at as a teenager? & what exactly do you do when you volunteer at say a hospital or something? Where can i volunteer at? Is community service fun? & what do you do when you volunteer somewhere?

  the first answerer was right. you can volunteer at soup kitchens, libraries, hospitals, homeless shelters, etc. community service is fun because it feels good to make a difference; you do simple tasks like sorting items, cleaning up, etc. to find a place to volunteer at, check out http://dosomething.org. they have a page where you enter your zip code and they give you information about open jobs in your area.
