Ways to volunteer abroad / work abroad / learn abroad?

  • I wish I was a little easier but I really don't like the idea of sharing rooms/bathrooms with people. I get very socially anxious, so would like something in the background (fruit picking sounded great but I have problems with my back!) I'll go almost anywhere though. I just need my own space bedroom wise, and not too much exposure (for example teaching or working closely with groups is a no no). I would like to volunteer but am open to other things like intensive language courses. I've had a look myself but can't find anything much that suits. Just wondered if anyone else has done this and if you have any tips. I have almost no qualifications and not much work experience and am in my twenties if this helps !? Just want to see the world :p Thanks

    Contact Leave UR Mark. They have several options to volunteer and work abroad. Getting your own room will not be an issue. Some people need privacy and that's totally fine. They will arrange it for you. Get their contact info from their website and send them a note! http://www.leaveurmark.com Of course it's possible, you just want to be set up in your own place. That's not asking for much.

I'm sure there must be something for you out there, but you seem to be putting too many restrictions on yourself. Intensive language courses sound very worthwhile but as a volunteer you will have to muck in like every one else. Your making it sound as though all you really want is to travel the world on a freebie and in moderate luxury. What about enlisting in the Army
