How does a charity work?

How can I work/help at a charity?

  • I'm 17 and want to start helping out with a charity, I have two sorts of charities I would like to get involved with, one is to help people with downs symdrone (not sure how to spell it, sorry if its wrong) and the other one is for people that are living with aids, I've read up on it and it has really moved me and I want to help out, plus one of my favourite singer died due to aids, which is the great freddie mercury... But anyway if anyone knows how I can get started and work for some kind of charity that would be so much help, thanks

  • Answer:

If you are caucasian you could be on of the 1% immune to AIDS, see if you can get your doctor to give you a blood test. If you ARE immune, your bone marrow could cure the disease in someone. That's the best way you could help.

Join any blood donation campaign and encourage more people to donate blood. Various people, especially those with blood diseases such as leukemia and hemophilia, need whole blood and blood plasma. They need new blood inside their system to get well and hopefully, they can be cured. Truth is; our world today experience blood scarcity. A lot of people need blood transfusion however, the supply of blood remains low, Qualified and young donors are afraid to donate and they think it can only hurt them. It's not easy to change this misconception but if there are any promotional alerts and more "why donate blood" ads are shown on TV/radio, change is not impossible. There is still HOPE.
