Volunteer Work abroad.

Hard volunteer work abroad for student/unqualified?

• I'm looking to do some volunteer work abroad for a charity except I don't want it to be an "easy" time. I've been looking at a lot of volunteer positions but none of them fit exactly what i want, they seem a little bit too nice (no disrespect intended!), i want it to be pretty hard . Preferably I want to work with refugees/war torn families or something along those lines.. I have next to no work experience and have just finished A-Levels. Any recommendations?

  I understand what you are saying. You will have a difficult time finding volunteer work like that because in most countries, they do not want foreigners anywhere near the areas where there are refugees/war torn families/etc. It is seemingly dangerous and most organizations will not risk putting you in danger like that. The local communities will see you less as someone who wants to give a helping hand and more as a dollar sign. Perhaps you'd have to apply for Peace Corps as much of their volunteer work is pretty rough. Otherwise, get some experience through one of these "softer" volunteer work programs and then when you get to the country, you can ask the locals where to go.
