What is advisory discretionary fund?

Do you have any ideas for a fund – raiser ? What fund -- raisers worked for you ?

  • I've been wanting to try fund -- raising for a long time . Right now, I'm selling kitchen items, and the profits go to the various churches in my town . I want to put on a fun event where people have to pay a few dollars to attend . I might want to avoid putting on a dinner or a casino night . I COULD put on a dinner or a casino night if I had enough people to give me a hand, but I'm only a one -- man operation, and putting on a dinner might be too much of a project for one man . I don't need any responses from any atheists . I realize an atheist has a right to be an atheist, so I need to be given the same right to believe in God and raise money for my church . If I could get with enough people, I might put on a dinner or a casino night . Do I have the right idea for a fund – raiser ? Is there an idea for a fund – raiser that I might not know about ? What else can I do to put on a fun event for a large crowd of people ? Thank you in advance for your answers .

What you are doing is ILLEGAL. You need written permission from a charity to operate a fund raiser in their name. You need that tax exempt number. Putting on a dinner takes about 9 months of planning, about 3k upfront money for deposits and purchases. For the casino night you need a permit issued by your town. Suggest you do some research and discuss with the charity what they want their name tied to. Most churches do NOT want to be involved in any form of gambling.
